Allergy, Asthma and Immunology of the Rockies

Medical Assistant

Job Description

Allergy, Asthma & Immunology of the Rockies is a physician-owned specialty practice serving the Roaring Fork Valley from offices in Glenwood Springs and Willits. We compound our own allergen extracts and run injection clinics on site. We're looking for a Medical Assistant who wants varied clinical work in a small, well-run team where patients come back for years. Responsibilities
  • Room patients, take vitals, review medication and symptom history, and prepare the chart for the clinician
  • Perform allergy skin testing (percutaneous and intradermal), measure and record results, and monitor patients throughout testing
  • Administer allergen immunotherapy injections and observe patients for the required 30-minute post-injection period; recognize and respond to reactions per protocol
  • Assist with pulmonary function testing, patient education, and biologic administration
  • Compound patient-specific allergen extracts under supervision
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EHR and support patients on the FollowMyHealth portal
  • Help patients through digital check-in on CheckinAsyst and troubleshoot at the point of use as we roll it out
  • Cross-train with and support the front office — covering check-in, scheduling, and phones during peak times, breaks, and absences
  • Keep clinical areas, supplies, refrigerated inventory, and emergency equipment stocked, logged, and ready The Ideal Candidate
  • MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) or completion of an accredited MA program; equivalent clinical experience considered
  • Current BLS/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain before start date
  • Comfort with needles, injections, and calmly managing an occasional acute reaction
  • Careful, detail-driven documentation habits — in this specialty, dosing accuracy matters
  • Warm, steady manner with patients of all ages, including children
  • Willingness to cross-train on front office workflows — everyone here covers for everyone
  • Allergy, immunology, or pulmonary experience is a plus; we will train the right candidate
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred Why AAIR?
  • Physician-owned and independent — decisions get made in the building
  • No nights, no weekends, no hospital call
  • Subspecialty training you won't get in primary care, plus cross-training across the practice ` To apply : Apply through Indeed, or email Dr.
