Job Summary:
As a Front Office team member , you will be responsible for verifying patient information, ensuring accurate data entry, handling insurance verifications, and providing administrative support for patient care. You will also assist with direct patient care under supervision, perform lab work, and manage appointment scheduling, all while maintaining strong customer service and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Patient Verification & Data Entry:
Review physician/provider schedules to determine patients needing verification (e.g., new patients, patients not seen recently, exchange patients). Accurately obtain, confirm, and enter patient demographics into the eCW system, ensuring insurance details (e.g., ID numbers) are correct. Verify insurance benefits via online tools (e.g., Navinet, Availity) and correct errors as needed (e.g., date of birth, address). 2.
Insurance Verification & Issues Resolution:
Resolve any eligibility issues or discrepancies, including calling insurance companies for information (e.g., deductibles for in-office procedures). Communicate patient responsibility information to patients (e.g., deductibles, co-pays, insurance requirements). 3.
Patient Care & Administrative Support:
Administer injections and draw blood for labs, under supervision. Respond to patient complaints of pain and notify licensed staff as necessary. Ensure patient safety during care and minimize healthcare errors. Provide follow-up and reschedule appointments for no-shows or patient scheduling changes. Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and/or deductibles. 4.
Communication & Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service, ensuring accurate and complete information is relayed to patients and internal staff. Answer phones promptly and respond to emails and message bubbles quickly. Keep track of updates to schedules and verify any add-ons or changes as they occur. 5.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with coworkers, providing support during team members' absence. Stay proactive in reviewing and managing assigned tasks, ensuring ongoing accuracy. Continuously seek additional training and feedback to improve performance. 6.
Other Administrative Tasks:
Schedule appointments, reschedule no-show appointments, and collect payments. Review and adjust work practices to minimize errors, focusing on accuracy in all tasks.
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of insurance verification with Availity and patient scheduling. Proficiency with eCW or similar practice management systems. Ability to administer injections and perform lab draws. Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work under supervision and in a team-oriented environment. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
Regulatory Requirements:
Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or six (6) month Nurse Aide Program. Certified Medical Assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) preferred. Completion of venipuncture class. Current BCLS certification.
