Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Wound Care Physician Assistant and Medical Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team in August, GA and all surrounding areas. In this vital role, you will provide expert wound assessment, management, and treatment to diverse patient populations, including those in acute, post-acute, and long-term care settings. Your expertise will help promote healing, prevent complications, and improve quality of life for patients with complex wounds. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with healthcare professionals across various specialties and utilize advanced clinical skills to deliver exceptional patient care. Duties Conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including evaluating wound size, depth, exudate, and signs of infection using sterile techniques and clinical judgment. Develop individualized wound care plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as debridement, dressings selection, and advanced therapies like skin substitutes or negative pressure wound therapy. Administer specialized treatments including suturing, dermal fillers, botulinum toxin injections for pain management or aesthetic purposes, and other advanced procedures. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care. Manage documentation efficiently using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients and families on wound prevention strategies, proper dressing changes, medication administration, and lifestyle modifications to promote healing. Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects aimed at advancing wound care practices within the facility. Experience Proven experience in wound care management within hospital settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or ICU environments is highly desirable, but not required, as we will provide training needed to perform required actions Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as PracticeEHR (will provide training). Prior clinical experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and those requiring hospice or palliative care are desired, but not required. Skilled in performing procedures such as sterile dressing changes, etc. Knowledge of advanced practice protocols under collaborative practice agreements with physicians is essential. Experience working in outpatient clinics to enhance your ability to deliver flexible patient-centered care.
