Job Summary:

Assists in both registration and rooming of patients.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Assists with in office procedures Collects vitals, weight, and patient information and completes any initial testing in preparation for provider Completes medication reconciliation Orders any testing or labs requested by provider Completes all Prior Authorizations for tests and surgeries ordered Efficiently conducts check-in, check-out, and rescheduling procedures as needed Prepare meds for injections Call patients with results Complete FMLA paperwork Maintain stock Scan/index medical records Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Understanding of completing prior authorizations and other insurance needs Excellent customer service skills Exceptional verbal and written commnication skills Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines Abides by all HIPAA guidelines Abides by all hospital policies and procedures Medical Assistant certification

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn current electronic medical record (Allscripts, Epic) Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurances
