Job Description

Job Overview Premier Urgent Care in Jena is seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support medical staff, and ensure smooth operations within a busy medical practice. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality healthcare services across various specialties, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your skills in medical assisting, documentation, and patient service will make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, vital signs measurement, and medical history documentation using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, X-ray imaging, and basic life support (BLS) procedures. Support inpatient and outpatient care by managing medical records, ICD coding, and ensuring accurate medical documentation. Conduct patient education on medication usage, physiology basics, and health maintenance strategies. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or trauma centers to provide seamless patient care. Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program is required. Proven experience in medical office management and administrative support within a healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management. Competency in performing phlebotomy, X-ray procedures, and medication administration. Familiarity with hospital environments including Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center experience is advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings such as urgent care clinics or emergency departments. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory; additional certifications like Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are a plus. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including geriatrics and internal medicine patients. comfortable in drawing blood At times insert and maintain IVs. Pay:
$16.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 - 40.0 per week
