American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care companies in the U.S. providing services seven days a week on a walk-in basis. Our state-of-the-art centers focus on the episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. Each location is equipped with an onsite lab and in-house x-ray capability. We are searching for a Medical Assistant Job Summary Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting. Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Responsibilities Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions Respond to all lab messages and call back requests Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures Maintain complete and accurate documentation Qualifications AMT-registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are required.
