Pathology Laboratory Assistant APDerm - 2.5 Westford, MA Job Details Full-time $19.83 - $26.91 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Laboratory procedures Laboratory inventory control Triage Data quality assurance Patient demographics Implementing laboratory quality control protocols High school diploma or GED Analysis skills Bachelor's degree Clinical data entry Task prioritization Data interpretation Organizational skills Quality control problem-solving Laboratory information systems (LIS) Data accuracy checks Entry level Sample accessioning Full Job Description Pathology Lab Assistant will assist the Lab Manager with specimen processing, quality assurance on each pathology ensuring receipt and accessioning specimens. The schedule for this position is Day-to-day path lab operations with commitment to providing the highest quality service to patients. Daily confirmation of receipt and accessioning specimens. Maintain quality control to ensure reliability of processing procedures. Verify patient demographics, physician data, tests requested, time and date of collection, appropriate clinical information and all other pertinent data found on laboratory request forms. Identifies problems with specimen types, missing information etc. and works with clinical staff to resolve them. Accurately enters patient information into laboratory information system (LIS). Communicate to manager to maintain sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for performance of duties. Communicate in a professional and courteous manner with practice staff. Provide advanced problem solving, troubleshooting, interpretation/consultation, verification of specimen quality. Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the department and APDerm®. degree and BA preferred. Accuracy and close attention to detail. Strong analytical judgement. Visual acuity (including color discrimination) to distinguish fine detail. Good organizational skills, ability to triage and prioritize. The salary for this role will range from USD $19.83 to 26.91 per hour based on full-time employment. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to years of experience, location, relevant skills, training, education, etc. Certain roles may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives.
