Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are a leading foot and ankle surgical practice specializing in minimally invasive procedures. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Medical Assistant to join our team on a part-time, long-term basis, with the potential to transition to full-time. The ideal candidate will be experienced, have excellent customer service skills, and maintain a positive attitude. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a key role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical team with surgical procedures and office responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Assist with patient care, including preparing patients for procedures and taking medical histories. Clean and turn over exam and surgical rooms after each patient. Maintain sterile technique during procedures and assist the surgical team as needed. Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment. Clean the bathroom and lobby areas to maintain a hygienic environment for patients. Take out the trash regularly from exam rooms, the surgical suite, and office areas. Ensure all supplies and materials are stocked and organized in the office and surgical suite. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their needs with professionalism and care. Help maintain a clean and organized workspace. Manage administrative tasks such as filing, documentation, and data entry when necessary.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Punctual and reliable, with excellent time-management skills. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures. Knowledge of or willingness to learn sterile technique and surgical assisting. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods. Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required (on-the-job training provided).
Preferred Skills:
Experience in a medical or surgical setting is a plus. Familiarity with medical terminology and sterile techniques.
