Kalamazoo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Clinical Assistant to join our growing team. Competitive wages and benefits offered. As a Clinical Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting our surgeons and caring for patients throughout their surgical experience.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare operatories, surgical instruments, and treatment rooms for daily procedures
Welcome and room patients while obtaining medical histories and vital signs
Assist surgeons during oral surgery procedures
Take panoramic, CBCT, and digital images
Monitor and care for patients during recovery
Provide post-operative instructions and patient education
Complete post-operative follow-up calls
Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
Maintain organized and fully stocked treatment rooms
Participate in the office on-call rotation
Work collaboratively with surgeons and teammates to provide outstanding patient care These responsibilities encompass a comprehensive range of tasks aimed at delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the oral surgery practice.
Requirements:
High School Diploma. Preferred knowledge of oral and maxillofacial terminology and anatomy. Preferred experience in medical or dental assisting. Familiarity with electronic medical records is preferred. BLS certification must be obtained within six months of the hire date. Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination acquisition within two years of the hire date. Excellent verbal and face-to-face communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Participation in an on-call rotation. These requirements ensure that the candidate possesses the necessary educational background, skills, and certifications to contribute effectively to our oral surgery practice.
