About the Practice We are a growing outpatient psychiatric practice dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. We strive to create a welcoming, supportive environment where patients feel heard and respected. Position Summary The Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting providers in delivering high-quality patient care through clinical and administrative duties. This individual should be independent, organized, proactive, compassionate, and comfortable working with individuals experiencing mental health conditions. Responsibilities Room patients and obtain/update vital signs as clinically indicated Review medications, allergies, and pharmacy information Prepare patient charts prior to appointments Coordinate prescription refill requests Complete prior authorizations for medications Process laboratory orders and review incoming results with provider Answer patient phone calls and portal messages professionally Schedule appointments and maintain provider calendars Obtain outside medical records Assist with referrals and coordination of care Complete disability, FMLA, and other patient forms Maintain HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation Support office workflow and contribute to an exceptional patient experience Administer injections as needed Qualifications Medical Assistant certification preferred Experience in psychiatry or primary care preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Familiarity with electronic health records Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail Compassionate, professional, and patient-centered Experience in outpatient psychiatry preferred, but not required Experience with or interest in advanced interventional psychiatric treatments, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato® (esketamine), is highly desirable.
