Job Description

Missouri Ozarks Community Health is a community health center dedicated to providing quality healthcare to individuals in Ava, Gainesville, Mansfield, Mountain Grove, Cabool, Theodosia and Houston. Our team has been caring for patients since 1997 and is committed to expanding our services. We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our nursing team. This position will be a float position between our Mountain Grove, Cabool and Houston clinics, but based in the Cabool clinic. The successful candidate will work directly with a medical provider to assist with routine patient care and perform a wide variety of medical procedures. We offer the option of a 4- or 5-day work week for flexibility. We are looking for a motivated, results-driven professional with strong interpersonal skills, the ability to think independently and act decisively when needed. Preference will be given to the candidates with current Medical Assistant certification or registration. Candidates should have a solid understanding of medical procedures and the ability to adhere to strict hygiene standards. A willingness to travel to other clinic locations is required.
Responsibilities:
Place patients in exam rooms, record vital signs, current complaints, and relevant medical history. Assist the medical provider in patient treatment and specialized procedures. Provide patient education, and applicable preventative services. Maintain confidentiality of patient records and information. Document all patient contacts, triage phone calls, and refer complicated illnesses to medical providers. Perform in-house, CLIA-waived laboratory tests per protocols. Log all lab testing, review laboratory results when returned from outside labs, check them off as received, and refer all abnormal results to the correct provider. Administer medications to patients per provider order and medication administration protocols. Assist with outreach activities as directed.
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred. Current Medical Assistant Certificate or registration preferred. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with healthcare providers. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. CPR (BLS) certification preferred. Candidates must pass a drug/alcohol screening before employment can begin.

$15.50 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 - 40.0 per week
