Job Description

MEDICAL ASSISTANT - PART-TIME
Potential for Future Full-Time RiverBranch Healthcare | Republic, Missouri RiverBranch Healthcare is seeking a dependable, motivated, professional, and patient-focused Medical Assistant (MA) to join our growing independent healthcare practice. This position will begin part-time with the potential to transition to increased hours or full-time employment as the practice grows. We are looking for someone who enjoys patient care and is also comfortable helping with the clinical, administrative, and operational responsibilities of a small private practice. Position Responsibilities
  • Room patients and obtain/document vital signs, medications, allergies, histories, and other appropriate patient information.
  • Prepare, clean, organize, and stock examination rooms and clinical areas.
  • Assist the provider with examinations, procedures, injections, testing, specimen collection, and other clinical duties within training and permitted scope.
  • Answer patient phone calls, portal messages, and routine patient communications; communicate provider instructions and coordinate follow-up.
  • Process prescription refill requests according to established protocols and provider direction.
  • Complete and follow up on medication, imaging, and procedure prior authorizations.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing/results, imaging, referrals, medical records, and outside services.
  • Assist with scheduling, check-in/check-out, forms, scanning, faxing, and general front-office responsibilities.
  • Assist with collections, including copays, self-pay charges, membership payments, and outstanding patient balances according to practice policy.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Monitor clinical and office supplies and assist with ordering and inventory.
  • Assist with marketing, promotions, community events, health fairs, networking, and practice-growth activities when needed.
  • Support the provider and team with daily clinic operations and other reasonable duties consistent with the Medical Assistant role. What We're Looking For

  • Comfortable multitasking, prioritizing responsibilities, and taking initiative.
  • Able to work independently while recognizing when provider involvement is necessary.
  • Strong communication skills by telephone, electronically, and in person.
  • Comfortable with computers and willing to learn electronic medical record systems.
  • Positive, flexible, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a growing small-practice environment.
  • Committed to HIPAA, patient confidentiality, professionalism, and working within appropriate scope of practice. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant training, certification, or applicable healthcare experience preferred.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential preferred but not required based on experience and qualifications.
  • Previous primary care, family medicine, or outpatient experience is a plus.
  • Experience with phlebotomy, injections, EMRs, prescription refills, prior authorizations, insurance, referrals, scheduling, or collections is highly valued.
  • BLS/CPR certification preferred.
