Job Summary Greater Meridian Health Clinic, Inc. (Louisville site) is seeking an experienced dedicated and highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of medical assisting procedures, patient care, and clinical support within diverse medical settings. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient clinic operations, providing exceptional patient service, and supporting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality care. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that values professionalism, accuracy, and compassionate patient interactions. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including recording vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms to facilitate accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are sterile, organized, and ready for procedures such as X-ray, phlebotomy, or medication administration. Perform clinical tasks such as drawing blood (phlebotomy), administering medications under supervision, and managing basic life support protocols in emergency situations. Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards and confidentiality regulations. Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, verifying insurance information, and handling administrative support tasks efficiently. Assist with complex procedures in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety. Qualifications Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are highly preferred. Proven experience in medical office settings with familiarity in dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or hospital environments is advantageous. Demonstrated proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and EMR/EHR management practices. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, standards for accurate documentation. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
