Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant specializing in Psychiatry to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will provide essential clinical and administrative support within our psychiatric outpatient services, ensuring smooth patient flow and delivering exceptional care. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel valued and supported on their mental health journey. Duties Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and medication reconciliation. Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during visits as needed. Administer injections and perform specimen collection/laboratory duties in accordance with provider orders and office protocols. Document accurately in the electronic medical record (Epic experience preferred). Coordinate patient care, including referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up appointments. Respond to patient messages, phone calls, and prescription refill requests according to office protocols. Perform administrative and clinical duties while maintaining efficient patient flow. Educate patients on follow-up instructions as directed by the provider. Maintain exam rooms, clinical supplies, and ensure proper handling of laboratory specimens. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all CCHC policies and procedures. Work collaboratively with providers and team members to deliver outstanding patient care. Qualifications Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required. Experience administering injections and performing phlebotomy/specimen collection is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous medical assistant experience preferred. Experience in behavioral health or psychiatry is a plus, but not required. Electronic Medical Record (Epic) experience preferred. Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate empathy when working with patients experiencing mental health conditions.
