Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures, including taking vital signs, preparing patients, and supporting with medical documentation. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) to ensure patient safety and comfort. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient histories, diagnoses, treatments, and billing information. Conduct patient intake processes by collecting medical histories, updating records, and explaining procedures clearly to patients. Support medical office operations through scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling administrative duties like insurance verification and ICD coding. Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas while adhering to infection control protocols. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in outpatient settings, hospital medicine units, or emergency departments to deliver seamless patient care. Experience Prior experience working in medical offices or clinical settings such as dermatology, internal medicine, or urgent care is highly valued. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation practices. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards. Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (BLS). Inpatient experience at Level I or Level II trauma centers or emergency medicine environments is a strong plus. Familiarity with hospital medicine workflows, outpatient procedures, or geriatrics enhances your ability to support diverse patient populations. Certification in Medical Assisting or related fields is preferred; ongoing training in hospital/OR/ICU environments is advantageous.
