Job Description

Job Summary:
Under supervision of the Washington Site Manager, maintains patient appointment flow and assists tech in preparing for exam. Also works front desk as needed registering patients, answering phone and scheduling appointments. Monday - Friday 8-4 or 8:30-4:30 with Saturday rotation (once a month but varies upon staffing and hours 9am-1pm)
Major Job Functions:
Follow appointment list and call patients back for exams, prioritizing and keeping on schedule. Get patient undressed and ask pertinent mammography history. Assist patients with mammography survey as needed. Input patient data for the creation of the patient account Assembling of patient information to be utilized by Technologists and Radiologists including pregnancy test forms and prior mammography information. Notifies patients of delays, rescheduling, etc. of their appointment Follow STAT reports to verify they are read in timely manner Wash/fold laundry and keep rooms stocked. Check supply inventory and submit orders to site manager. Release patients once cleared by radiologist to leave Obtain and verify necessary insurance information for patient account. Answers, directs and takes messages of telephone calls and greets patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. Collection of deductibles, copayments and/or any monies due on patient account Comply with the policy and procedures set forth by Eastern Radiologists, Inc. Performs other job-related duties as prescribed by the Site Manager and Radiologists Verifies referrals are correct and contact referring providers for corrections Calls all patients to remind them of their next day appointment. Schedules appointments Perform other miscellaneous duties as requested
Specifications:
Education:
High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
Experience:
Prior medical office, insurance and collection experience preferred
Certification/License/Registration:
BLS/CPR certification required.

Special Training/Skills:
Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations. Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects. Ability to interact well on all levels. Must be courteous at all times with patients and interdepartmental personnel.
Physical Demands:
General vision, clear speech, hearing, reading, writing, standing, walking. May use some repetitive movements, bend, kneel or move or carry light objects.
Working Conditions:
Works in a medical facility. Works with others verbally and with face-to-face contact. Must have demonstrated ability to deliver services to patients, physicians and fellow coworkers with compassion and in a responsive and courteous manner.
