Role:
The Medical Assistant 3 Receptionist 3 plays a critical dual role in healthcare settings by providing both clinical support and front-desk administrative services. This position ensures smooth patient flow by managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out processes, and maintaining accurate medical records. The role requires effective communication with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to facilitate seamless care delivery. Additionally, the Medical Assistant 3 Receptionist 3 supports clinical staff by preparing patients for examinations, performing basic clinical tasks, and assisting with medical procedures as needed. Ultimately, this position contributes to a positive patient experience and efficient healthcare operations through a combination of administrative expertise and clinical proficiency.
Responsibilities:
Greet and register patients upon arrival, verifying personal and insurance information accurately. Schedule and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate medical personnel. Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and explaining procedures. Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and minor procedures as required. Maintain and update patient medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Process billing information and assist with insurance claims and authorizations. Manage office supplies and ensure the reception area is organized and welcoming. Coordinate communication between patients, medical staff, and external healthcare providers. Perform other administrative duties such as filing, faxing, and data entry to support clinic operations.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) Bilingual in English and Spanish Experience in a medical assistant or receptionist role within a healthcare setting. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic office software. Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a multi-specialty medical practice or hospital environment. Advanced certification in phlebotomy or EKG administration. Familiarity with medical billing and coding processes. Training in customer service or patient relations.
