Perform basic clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and wound care under supervision. Support physicians with documentation of medical records, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and detailed medical documentation for accurate billing and recordkeeping. Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, confirming upcoming visits, and coordinating follow-up care. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards across various specialties like internal medicine or geriatrics. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar medical office role with knowledge of medical assisting practices. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management for accurate documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding to support precise clinical work. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus. Experience working in diverse settings including hospital medicine, urgent care centers, or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable. Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate empathy in fast-paced environments like emergency medicine or inpatient units.
