PCP for Life

Bilingual Medical Assistant

Job Description

Bilingual Medical Assistant (Spanish/English) PCP for Life | Houston, TX (Multiple Locations) | Starting at $14.00/hr | Rotating Schedule - Up to 4 Days Off Per Week Most MA jobs in Houston will hand you a room assignment, a full schedule, and wish you luck. Here's what's different about this one: you'll work a rotating schedule that gives you a 4-day weekend every other week, a structured onboarding that prepares you before you're solo, and a genuine opportunity to grow — whether that means becoming a scribe, floating across teams and providers, or using this role as a strong foundation for nursing or medical school down the road. We're a primary care group that has served Houston's diverse communities since 1992 — currently eight clinics, with new locations opening soon. Spanish fluency isn't a bonus here. It's the bridge between our providers and thousands of patients who need to be heard in their own language. The Schedule — Let's Talk About It This is one of the best-kept secrets about working here, so we're leading with it: Week 1 — 3 days on, 4 days off: 2 weekday shifts (12 hours each) + 1 weekend shift (10 hours). Then 4 full days off. Week 2 — 4 days on, 3 days off: 3 weekday shifts (12 hours each) + 1 weekend shift (10 hours). Then 3 days off.
The result:
A 4-day weekend every other week. More time to recharge than most healthcare jobs will ever offer. Why Join PCP for Life?
MA Levels & Real Advancement:
We have tiered MA levels within our clinics. Experienced MAs can advance into scribe roles, working directly alongside providers in a way that deepens clinical knowledge fast — valuable for anyone with longer-term goals in healthcare. Built for
Future Nurses & Physicians:
If you have plans to go further in healthcare, this role delivers: exposure to diverse patient populations, different providers, and multiple specialties through float opportunities. Many of our MAs have used this platform to launch clinical careers.
Float Opportunities:
MAs looking to grow can float across teams, clinics, and providers — building breadth of experience across demographics and care settings that a single-clinic job simply can't offer.
Comprehensive Benefits:
Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance plus Paid Time Off (PTO).
Future Planning:
401(k) with company matching.
Structured Onboarding:
All new MAs start at our Magnolia call center to master patient communication protocols and eClinicalWorks before stepping into their primary clinic. You'll know what you're doing before you're on your own.
Consistent Home Base:
We prioritize placing you at a primary location so you build real relationships with your team and patients — not a different clinic every week.
Growing Organization:
Serving Houston since 1992 and still expanding. New clinic locations opening soon in the greater Houston area. What You'll Do This is a full-scope MA role in a high-trust, team-oriented environment. You'll be the person patients interact with before they ever see their provider — which means your attitude, accuracy, and bilingual communication skills set the tone for their entire visit.
Patient Intake:
Interview patients in English and Spanish, document medical histories, record vital signs, and prepare them for their provider visit with care and efficiency.
Clinical Support:
Prepare exam rooms, maintain instruments and supplies, and assist providers during examinations across a 30-40 patient-per-provider daily schedule.
Chart & Records Management:
Maintain accurate patient charts and records in eClinicalWorks. Documentation errors in primary care have real consequences — precision is non-negotiable.
Coordination:
Assist with scheduling, lab coordination, hospital admissions, and referral workflows.
Administrative Duties:
Handle medical correspondence — faxes, memos, and forms — with accuracy and confidentiality.
Location Coverage:
Occasional travel between nearby clinic locations as needed. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. What We're Looking For We'll be straight with you: Rates start at $14/hr and go up from there. What we're offering in return is the schedule above, a tiered growth structure, float opportunities that build real clinical breadth, and a team environment that's been stable for over 30 years. If that trade-off works for you, here's what we need:
Bilingual Spanish/English:
Required — not preferred. You'll use it every single shift. MA Certification (CMA/RMA): Valid certification required.
Clinical Experience:
You've worked in a medical setting and can keep pace in a 30-40 patient/day environment without losing accuracy.
EMR Proficiency:
Comfortable navigating patient management software at speed. eClinicalWorks experience is a plus. Attention to
Detail:
Vitals, documentation, and patient histories need to be right the first time.
Composure Under Pressure:
The waiting room will be full. Patients will be anxious. You stay steady.

Our providers depend on their MA team. If showing up consistently is something you struggle with, this isn't the right fit.
Compensation & Location Pay Range:
Starting at $14.00/hr based on experience.
Locations:
Multiple Houston-area clinics. Primary placement prioritized; occasional travel between nearby locations required.
Expanding:
New clinic locations opening in Willis, Fulshear, and beyond — additional opportunities ahead for those who grow with us. Background and drug screening are part of our hiring process. PCP for Life is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
