Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)-Urgent Care

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and qualified CCMA to promote and restore patients' health. This position has a high level of engagement and responsibility with patients and the provider. This is a fast-paced environment that will require critical thinking skills and applying pertinent medical knowledge to a broad range of urgent care situations. Primary duties will include checking in patients, verifying insurance, taking payments, triaging patients, taking patient vitals, medication review, administering injections, completing a variety of tests, administering IV fluids, and assisting the provider with a variety of procedures. Additional duties will include working directly with patients, obtaining prior authorizations, calling back patient labs, submitting lab orders, submitting referrals, scheduling patients, and providing other clinical support. Hours This is a part-time job with mandatory Saturday hours. Additional hours during the week will be assigned as needed, with no less than two other days to work. Responsibilities Verify Insurance and register patients Triage Patients Answer phone and communicate with patients and co-workers Identify patients' care requirements, focus on their needs, and act on them Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support Resolve or report on patients' needs or problems Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine diagnostic checks (monitor pulse, blood pressure and temperature, provide drugs and injections etc) Monitor and record patient's condition and document provided care services Treat medical emergencies Administer workloads Follow care regulations and standards Work within and cooperate with a multidisciplinary team Obtain Prior Authorizations as needed Support clinical staff with tasks Train to be certified to collect DOT Drug Screenings Skills •Previous Experience in performing prior authorizations. Proven nursing experience Familiarity with professional and technical emerging knowledge Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task Compassionate with good communication skills Excellent teamwork skills
Injections EKG Pay:
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour
