In this vital role, you will interpret and assign appropriate codes to medical records, supporting the revenue cycle management process and contributing to high-quality patient care documentation. Your proficiency in ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and DRG coding will be essential to streamline billing operations and optimize healthcare revenue. Duties Review and analyze medical records to assign accurate diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and DRG classifications. Ensure compliance with Medical Coding Guidelines established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and other regulatory bodies. Utilize medical coding software and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to accurately document coding activities for inpatient and outpatient services. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies and improve record accuracy for billing purposes. Perform medical record abstraction to extract relevant clinical information for billing, reporting, or research needs. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding guidelines to ensure precise code assignment. Support revenue cycle management by ensuring timely submission of claims and accurate coding for reimbursement processes. Experience Proven experience in medical coding within a healthcare setting, including familiarity with inpatient and outpatient coding procedures. Strong knowledge of

ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT

coding systems, along with HCPCS codes used for billing Medicare and Medicaid services. Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical coding software platforms. Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical records management. Familiarity with CMS guidelines for proper coding practices and documentation requirements for billing compliance. Prior involvement in medical billing or collection processes is a plus. Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to manage multiple records efficiently.
