POSITION SUMMARY

The Coder is responsible for reviewing provider service documentation and, from the documentation, assigning accurate CPT-4 and

ICD-10-CM

codes to the patient encounter form. Sources of the documentation may include office visits, nursing home visits, inpatient, ER and outpatient hospital visits.

• This position is primarily remote, with occasional onsite visits

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

a. Course in medical terminology as evidenced by appropriate transcripts from recognized educational institutions or training organizations. b. Certification such as CCS or CPC is required. RHIT will be considered. c. At least 2 years of relevant health care coding experience, preferably in CPT or

ICD-10-CM

coding systems and in medical group practice or hospital settings. d. Be able to interact well with patients, physicians, and other staff. e. Typing and computer skills required.
