Medical Coding Specialist We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coding Specialist to join a growing healthcare organization. This is a great opportunity for both newly certified coders looking to begin their career and experienced coders with professional and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) experience. The Medical Coding Specialist will review provider pre-coded claims, ensure coding accuracy and compliance, resolve discrepancies, and support timely and accurate billing. Responsibilities Review and audit provider pre-coded claims for accuracy. Assign and validate
CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS
Level II codes and appropriate modifiers. Review documentation to ensure services are coded accurately and compliantly. Code professional E/M and procedural services. Identify coding discrepancies and communicate concerns for correction. Assist with coding denials and identify recurring denial trends. Verify patient demographics and insurance information when needed. Maintain required coding quality and productivity standards. Track daily productivity using Excel. Follow applicable coding guidelines, NCCI edits, documentation requirements, payer policies, and federal/state regulations. Procedures may include E/M services, trigger point and bursa injections, Botox, intrathecal pump maintenance, medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablations, epidural steroid injections, and other outpatient/ASC procedures. Required Qualifications Active AAPC or AHIMA certification required - CPC, CPC-A/CPCA, or CCS. Knowledge of

Level II, modifiers, and medical terminology. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to receive and apply feedback while maintaining coding accuracy. may be considered with 0 years of professional coding experience . Experienced Coder / Level 2 Qualifications Candidates being considered for Level 2 should have: 2+ years of medical coding experience. Professional/outpatient E/M coding experience. ASC coding experience. Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, modifiers, NCCI edits, and payer guidelines. Ability to independently review more complex coding scenarios. Pain management/procedural coding and eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience are highly preferred. Schedule Monday-Friday 8-hour shift with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
