ASAP Overview Catalyst Cares Empowerment Center, an outpatient substance use and behavioral health program in Richmond, CA, is seeking a Medical Director for a limited-scope, part-time engagement. This role is ideal for a physician who wants meaningful involvement with a growing outpatient program without carrying a full clinical caseload. The Medical Director serves as the program's physician of record and provides general medical oversight, supporting our credentialing, payer enrollment, and Medi-Cal / DMC-ODS certification. Responsibilities Serve as the program's Medical Director and physician of record for credentialing, and payer/Medi-Cal (DMC-ODS) enrollment. Provide general medical oversight of clinical operations, protocols, and policies. Review and approve clinical policies, procedures, and medical protocols. Provide consultative oversight of medical-necessity and ASAM level-of-care determinations. Be available to the clinical team for medical consultation as needed. Support quality assurance and regulatory compliance efforts. Oversee medication-related protocols (e.g., MAT) as applicable to program scope. Required MD or DO with an active, unrestricted California medical license in good standing. Eligible to enroll as a Medi-Cal / DMC-ODS provider (not on any OIG or Medi-Cal exclusion list). DEA registration in good standing. Willingness to serve as physician of record and support credentialing and payer applications. Preferred Board certification in Psychiatry and/or Addiction Medicine. Experience with SUD / behavioral health programs and DMC-ODS or Medi-Cal. Schedule Flexible — approximately 5-10 hours per week, largely remote, with occasional on-site or virtual availability as needed.

Pay:
$150.00 - $350.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 5.0 per week
