About Milton Jefferson Recovery Milton Jefferson Recovery is a growing behavioral health and substance use treatment facility dedicated to providing compassionate care to individuals on their journey to recovery. We offer a full continuum of care, including Detoxification, Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) services. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Medical Director to join our leadership team and help shape the future of patient care. Position Summary The Medical Director is responsible for providing clinical leadership and medical oversight for all medical services within the facility. This individual ensures high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and adherence to evidence-based practices while collaborating with clinical, nursing, and executive leadership to support excellent patient outcomes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide medical oversight for detoxification, residential, PHP, and IOP programs. Conduct comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluations. Develop, implement, and oversee treatment protocols and clinical standards. Supervise and collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, and other medical professionals. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings. Review and approve medical policies, procedures, and clinical protocols. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, Joint Commission, CARF (if applicable), DEA, and licensing regulations. Provide oversight of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services. Be available for physician consultations and medical emergencies as needed. Collaborate with executive leadership regarding quality improvement initiatives and risk management. Review patient charts to ensure quality documentation and compliance. Support infection control, utilization review, and quality assurance initiatives. Assist with medical staff education and professional development. Foster a culture of compassionate, patient-centered care. Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution. Current unrestricted Ohio medical license. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Addiction Medicine, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine (Addiction Medicine certification preferred). Current DEA registration. Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, or a related healthcare setting preferred. Strong knowledge of substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, withdrawal management, and Medication-Assisted Treatment. Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills. Preferred Qualifications Board Certification in Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry. Experience working in detoxification and residential treatment programs. Experience with Joint Commission, CARF, or other accreditation standards. Familiarity with electronic medical record systems. Why Join Milton Jefferson Recovery?
