Job Description/Overview:
The practice manager is responsible for the business activities of the practice. The practice manager is a leadership position and a functional role depending on the age and size of the hospital, with the additional responsibility of ensuring a positive work environment in which the practice achieves its goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Live and exemplify the Petvet365 Purpose, Mission and Vision within self and team. Provides compassionate care to patients and clients with strong Fear Free principles. Promotes a client-centered environment and facilitates programs and processes that meet client needs. Facilitates and develops schedules, contracts and all maintenance activities needed in the hospital. Maintains the practice philosophy for attracting new clients and retaining existing clients. Facilitates resolution of client problems that doctors, or other staff members cannot finalize. Handles client complaints and situations in a prompt and positive manner. Responsible for overall wellness plan administration Plans and organizes all personnel activities. Responsible for performance review and engagement of all para-professional team members. Hires and manages support staff and/or staff supervisors. Manages schedules for staff and doctors. Assist in annual practice processes such as salaries reviews, and performance management. Provides phase training and helps staff plan for continuing education. Supports team member relationships and acts as a coach to resolve conflict. Reviews financial statements and key performance indicators. Monitors and reports on accounts payable and receivable. Promotes cooperative working environment among staff members; understands the value of teamwork; shows enthusiasm and willingness to perform as necessary to help the practice function as a unit. Partners with the regional practice manager and owners on performance evaluations and associate issues. Perform month 1:1's Manage weekly check-ins and team engagement. Establishes an inventory control system to assure adequate stocks of supplies are available. Promotes continuous quality improvement. Other duties as assigned Work closely with the owners to set goals and practice standards while working autonomously to keep the hospital running. Deal intelligibly, pleasantly and efficiently with clients on the telephone and in person, often doing several things at one time. Display tact and diplomacy with staff members and clients.
Qualifications Education and Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field is required. Fear Free Certification is required. Certified Veterinary Practice Manager Designation is desired. Work requires lifting and carrying records and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time
Knowledge and Experience:
Basic computer and record-keeping skills. Communication skills. Minimum three years working in veterinary practice or equivalent experience. Three+ years' experience with exposure to all aspects of a business enterprise, with demonstrated competence in budgeting and financial reporting and in staff management.
