Veterinary Practice Manager Union Veterinary Associates — Union, MO Position type: Full-time |
On-site Compensation:
$51,000 per year, based on experience
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, and 1 rotating Saturday per month. Bonuses $500 signing bonus , paid after successful completion of 90 days of employment About the Role Union Veterinary Associates has cared for pets in Franklin County for over 30 years. We're seeking an experienced Veterinary Practice Manager & Customer Care Coordinator to lead day-to-day practice operations and own the client experience end to end. This role is primarily management and client care, with hands-on clinical support as needed. It's built for a veterinary professional who is comfortable moving between staff coordination, clinic workflow, client communication, and the treatment floor. You'll be central to keeping our operations efficient, our clients confident in us, and our team environment positive. Key Responsibilities Practice Management Oversee daily clinic operations, workflow, and staff scheduling Coordinate coverage for veterinarians, technicians, and front-desk staff • Lead and supervise clinic staff, including veterinary technicians, receptionists, and administrative personnel, fostering a collaborative team environment. Support staff onboarding, training, and daily task prioritization Assist with payroll coordination, PTO tracking, and inventory oversight Monitor operational and basic financial metrics; support process improvements Support owner-approved special projects (e.g., IDEXX NEO implementation) Customer Care Coordination Own the client experience from first phone call through post-visit follow-up Manage the appointment schedule to reduce wait times, gaps, and no-shows Oversee appointment confirmations and reminder outreach Serve as the escalation point for client concerns — resolve issues directly and professionally Communicate treatment plans, estimates, and payment options clearly, including financing options Follow up on post-surgical and post-treatment cases, medication refills, and recheck appointments Coach front-desk staff on phone handling, greeting standards, and client communication Monitor online reviews and client feedback; surface recurring themes to ownership Clinical Support (Veterinary Technician) Assist veterinarians during exams, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures as needed Provide safe and humane animal handling and restraint Administer treatments and medications as directed Prepare and maintain exam and treatment areas Accurately document patient care in medical records Qualifications Previous experience in the veterinary industry Previous management or leadership background Strong client communication and conflict-resolution skills Strong organizational and multitasking ability Comfortable balancing administrative, client-facing, and clinical responsibilities Comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary practice environment Preferred Prior experience in a lead technician, supervisory, or practice management role Familiarity with veterinary practice management software (IDEXX NEO, AVImark, or similar)

Pay:
$48,434.05 - $51,000.00 per year
