Aultman Health Foundation Full Time , Day Shift , 8-5 Legal Entity Orrville Hospital Foundation Position Summary The primary purpose of the Practice Manager is the responsibility for overall management of the practices and overseeing the daily operations of the offices as assigned. The practice manager must be prepared to deal with evolving integrated health care delivery systems, technological innovations, an increasingly complex regulatory environment, restructuring of work, and more emphasis on preventive care. Areas of Oversight Summary Qualifications BA/BS in management/personnel or medical related program. Minimum three years experience in a supervisory capacity Must have knowledge of computer and must be able to demonstrate that knowledge Certification in Physician office management preferred Participate in continuing education courses annually or as required Hospital, certification Mostly a sedentary job. Considerable walking to consult with coworkers and staff. High level of stress related to multiple clinical and administrative responsibilities. PERSONNEL
Supervise all clinical and support personnel Recruit, hire and fire personnel as needed Conduct personnel performance and salary reviews Arrange, schedule and maintain records for personnel schedules, vacations, sick leave, etc. Prepare payroll Responsible for rectifying all personnel problems as they relate to other staff as well as office efficiency and effectiveness Perform annual staff competencies Update training and training manuals as needed Determine and change staff assignments and job descriptions as needed
Maintain Job Descriptions OFFICE:
Conduct staff meetings and attend physician and department meetings. Establishes and implements policies, objectives, and procedures for department. Reports on department results and outcomes. Actively seeks ways to improve staff/office performance Assist with maintaining active and up to date licensing and insurance documents for all physicians Risk management to include adherence to compliance programs; JCAHO, OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, and oversee patient safety and patient satisfaction Maintain Policies and Procedures
FINANCIAL
Maintain records for the annual budget Review and approve all accounts payable for payment Review monthly productivity reports and analyze same reports with physicians Act as liaison between the physicians and Hospital/MSO as needed Stay up to date on financial impact of government reform programs; Meaningful Use, PQRS, ACO's, VBP, etc and attest successfully.
BILLING AND COLLECTIONS
Oversee system to ensure accurate posting of charges and payments on accounts Oversee system for handling aged accounts Keep updated on billing and coding changes and communicate same to billing staff Perform / arrange chart audits to monitor for correct coding
BUSINESS SYSTEMS
Investigate new business systems as needed. Institute new processes related to systems/system changes as needed. Remain up to date on laws and regulations affecting the clinic business systems Ensure systems meet government reform requirements

This unit requires 24/7 coverage. Shifts are variable to volume of department. Rotation as needed. Work weekends and holidays as assigned. Every other weekend and two holidays a year, in a group rotation Hybrid/WFH schedule available Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate floor coverage Cross training in all areas in the department is required. On call coverage is assigned to cover the department schedule Staff may be assigned to different locations within the foundation Travel within a "XX" mile radius is required Department Working Conditions Hazardous Exposure Category Category III
  • Includes tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and Category I tasks are not a condition of employment.
The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood; body fluids or tissues (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone anywhere might encounter potential exposure to body fluids.)
