Job Description
The Ambulance and Chair EMS Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality prehospital emergency medical care, and maintaining operational readiness across assigned units. This role provides leadership, guidance, and support to EMS personnel while serving as the primary point of contact for on-scene decision-making, resource allocation, and coordination with allied agencies. In this role, the supervisor will be responsible for both clinical and administrative duties.

Days and nights required Every other weekend required Rotating holidays
Purpose:
The EMS Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality prehospital emergency medical care, and maintaining operational readiness across assigned units. This role provides leadership, guidance, and support to EMS personnel while serving as the primary point of contact for on-scene decision-making, resource allocation, and coordination with allied agencies. The EMS Operations Supervisor ensures compliance with organizational policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements, while fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and accountability. Acting as a liaison between field staff and leadership, the Officer in Charge addresses operational challenges, manages personnel performance in real-time, and supports ongoing training and development initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Direct supervision of field operations and staff during assigned shifts. Serving as the on-scene command authority for major incidents or complex calls in coordination with EMS operations leadership. Coordinating with dispatch, hospitals, law enforcement, fire services, and other agencies to ensure seamless patient care and operational efficiency. Monitoring crew performance, documentation, and compliance with clinical protocols. Oversee specialty and project assignments as needed. Providing mentorship, coaching, and immediate feedback to staff. Ensuring equipment, vehicles, and supplies are operational and mission ready. Supporting quality improvement initiatives and contributing to organizational goals. Foster and promote professionalism. Must work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and specialized equipment. Liaison to a variety of public safety entities, hospitals, nursing homes and communities.
