Job Description

Job Summary The Kennel Manager oversees the daily operations of the animal care department, ensuring all animals receive humane, high-quality care. This role leads and supports the kennel team, manages intake and medical processes, and maintains a safe, clean, and well-functioning shelter environment. Compensation & Benefits 3 weeks paid time off (PTO) at time of hire Paid holidays $3,600 annual insurance stipend What You'll Do Lead and support the kennel (animal care) team Ensure animals receive proper daily care, enrichment, and medical attention Manage intake, including strays, surrenders and transfers Monitor animal health and behavior and make appropriate care decisions Provide and oversee medical care for animals, including administering vaccinations, fluids, and medications in accordance with established veterinary protocols Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment Foster a positive, supportive, and team-oriented culture What We're Looking For Strong leadership or supervisory skills Experience administering vaccinations, fluids, and medications Ability to stay calm and make decisions in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Experience working with animals (shelter experience preferred) Confidence handling a wide range of animal behaviors Bachelors in Animal Science, CVT License, or equivalent hands-on experience, required Schedule & Environment Active, hands-on role with physical and emotional demands Occasional weekend coverage as needed to support staffing and operations
