Job Description

Full Time Job Summary The Medical Record Technology Specialist is responsible for carrying out the functions of Chart Analysis, completing/maintaining birth and death certificates, and assisting the Medical Record Operations Supervisor with Statistical Analysis and Reporting along with other responsibilities deemed appropriate in order to ensure documentation integrity of electronic medical records and secure the daily functionality of the Medical Record Department. Minimum Qualifications Education Preferred but not required: Associate's degree in health information management or in a related field. Experience Minimum of one year's experience in a Medical Record Department. Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations Notary Public Equipment, Tools, Work Aids Personal computer, computer scanner, and other general office equipment. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of personal computer and scanning functions. Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of medical record applications. Understanding of Medical Record Policies & Procedures. Knowledge of Confidentiality and Release of Information policies (HIPAA Regulations). Understanding of contents of medical record in relation to electronic medical record. Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and CMS (Conditions of Participation) Regulations relating to medical records. Knowledge of Federal and State regulations applicable to medical records and auditing. Knowledge of vital records documentation for birth and death certificates. Self-motivated with ability to work independently. Effective communication skills. Benefits Yes Approximate Work Schedule Monday thru Thursday 8:00AM-4:30PM and Friday 8:00AM-12:00PM
