Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to manage and maintain accurate health information records within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of health information management, medical terminology, and regulatory compliance, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of patient records. As a Medical Records Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting clinical operations by organizing, securing, and updating electronic and paper-based medical records in accordance with healthcare privacy protection standards and health regulation policies. Duties Perform Electronic Medical Record (EMR) audits to ensure documentation accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance. Identify documentation deficiencies and provide feedback to improve quality, consistency, and workflow efficiency. Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to maintain compliance and support exceptional client care. Monitor compliance with healthcare privacy protection laws and clinical confidentiality policies during all record handling processes. Assist in audits and quality assurance reviews related to health information management practices. Support the implementation of new EHR/EHR systems and provide training to staff on proper record management procedures. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare environment with a focus on medical records management. Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems for data entry, retrieval, and management. Strong knowledge of health information management principles, including medical coding and healthcare privacy regulations. Familiarity with health regulation policies governing patient data security and confidentiality. Experience with Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes. Understanding of revenue cycle management processes related to billing and insurance claims. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in record keeping. Ability to communicate effectively with clinical staff, patients, and administrative personnel while maintaining professionalism.
