Medical Records Clerk Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center - 2.8 Lowell, MA Job Details Full-time $19 an hour 10 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Dental insurance On-the-job training Vision insurance 401(k) matching Employee discount Opportunities for advancement Life insurance Qualifications English Clerical experience Full Job Description We are hiring a full-time Medical Records Clerk to join our team at Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Lowell! Weekly pay at $19 an hour. As the Medical Records Clerk, you perform clerical work in support of our nursing department, such as organizing patient records.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or its equivalent. One (1) year of experience in clerical work preferred. On-the-job training provided in medical work with knowledge of medical terminology and record procedure.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and organized nursing files, records, and nursing policy books. Maintain all regulatory-required logs and records. Coordinate and manage accurate and complete active and discharge medical records on file. Complete discharge medical records timely and accurately, as well as ensure the physician has signed in all appropriate sections. Ensure all requests for medical records are reviewed by the Director of Nurses and/or Administrator.
Specific Requirements:
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public. Ability to work harmoniously with other personnel. Ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc. Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices. Be able to follow written and oral instructions. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents, staff, based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning. Is proficient in composition of written communication. Must be knowledgeable in secretarial duties, use of equipment, etc., related to secretarial functions.
