Adheres to departmental policies and procedures to ensure departmental compliance with patient confidentiality, HIPAA requirements, and general security of health information data; Operates computer systems to process, store, and retrieve health information; Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information; Knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare guidelines; Must have knowledge of ICD-9; coding; and CPT Collect, post, and manage patient account payments; Submit claims to insurance; Must process knowledge of HCPCS codes; CPT coding and Revenue Codes; Prepare and review patient statements; May assist Director or other departmental staff with orientation/training of new or temporary staff to ensure appropriate record documentation and health information processing; May perform departmental clerical functions, utilizing knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures; may type correspondence and reports and assist in answering departmental and hospital telephone system; Other responsibilities as assigned/required. Provides support to the facility while sheltering in place due to hurricanes and other natural disasters.

Requirements:

Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, criminal background and TB skin test Certification or college degree in Health Information Management System, billing and coding, or a related program; At least 5 years experience in billing and coding, preferably in a behavioral healthcare organization with inpatient and outpatient services, with demonstrated progression in competence responsibilities; Experience in
