Medical Record Supervisor

Job Description

Position Summary Responsible for the oversight of the unit's medical records. Provides leadership to Medical Records Clerks, management of EHR system and or physical charts, files documents and medical releases, and conducts chart maintenance. Position Requirements An associate's degree 2-3 years' experience in healthcare and working with electronic medical records Must update and maintain skills and knowledge related to correctional health. Performance Expectations Provides leadership to medical records staff Main point of contact for medical record department. Acts as project manager for medical records process Provides necessary medical records for members of the healthcare team Reviews medical records for accuracy and completeness Ensures that all required documents and releases are included in all patient charts Maintains admission and discharge records Processes release of information requests Prepares routine correspondence Assists in providing discharge and release paperwork. Investigate and respond to patient grievances. Assists Health Service Administrator with investigating inquiries. All other duties as assigned Organizational Expectations Provides a positive and professional representation of CFG Health Systems, LLC. Promotes a culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice Adheres to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations Participate in ongoing quality improvement activities Completes required orientation as directed by the facility Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment Follows facility and CFG Health Systems Occurrence Protocol Upholds HIPAA and PREA regulations Punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts Maintains security clearance for the assigned facility Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
