Join Our Team as a Medical Records Manager! Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about keeping healthcare records accurate and secure? Salem Transitional Care is looking for a dedicated Medical Records Manager to oversee our medical records department and help ensure our residents receive the highest quality of care through accurate documentation and regulatory compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys organization, leadership, problem-solving, and working closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. What You'll Do As our Medical Records Manager, you'll play an essential role in ensuring resident medical records are accurate, secure, and compliant with all state and federal regulations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Overseeing the daily operations of the Medical Records department Maintaining accurate, complete, and organized resident medical records Coordinating electronic medical records and scanning documentation Auditing records to ensure compliance and accuracy Managing data entry and documentation within the electronic medical record system Coordinating physician documentation, signatures, and timely completion of medical records Maintaining HIPAA compliance and protecting resident confidentiality Managing record retention, filing, and archiving in accordance with regulations Compiling reports for admissions, discharges, and other facility statistics Participating in Medicare and Managed Care Triple Check meetings Training, scheduling, and supporting Medical Records staff Collaborating with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional resident care What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, and passionate about maintaining accurate healthcare documentation.
The ideal candidate is:
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail Knowledgeable in medical terminology and healthcare documentation Familiar with HIPAA regulations and resident privacy requirements Comfortable leading and supporting a team A strong communicator who works well with residents, families, physicians, and coworkers Skilled at managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy Proficient with computers and electronic medical record systems Experienced with PointClickCare (PCC) or willing to learn Why Join Us? Requirements:
Education High school diploma or equivalent required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field preferred Experience Two years of medical records or healthcare recordkeeping experience required Long-term care experience preferred PCC experience preferred
