Position Summary The role of the Birth Documentation Tech reports to the Health Information Services Manager. This position is responsible for collecting, processing, and submitting information in order to obtain a birth certificate issuance from the Arkansas Department of Health Vital Records. Essential Position Responsibilities Reach out to parents of the newborn to collect necessary information for birth certificates Obtain and submit necessary documentation including documentation signed by parents or guardians, medical record information, and any other necessary documentation to the appropriate state agency Assist with chart assembly, correspondence, and physician queries, as necessary
Qualifications Education :
High School Diploma or GED Licensure and Certifications :
N/A Experience :
Minimum 1-year previous experience in HIS, a healthcare setting, or a clerical support role, preferred.
Work Environment:
This position will spend 60% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 40% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
