This position is responsible for processing, retrieving, releasing and managing/scanning patient health information. Full-Time/Benefits Eligible Monday - Friday - 8 hours per day Columbus, OH (hybrid role)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Retrieving and processing incoming faxes in the fax inbox Retrieving and processing incoming mail Scanning and indexing patient documents into the patient's electronic health record (EHR) Assigning release of information (ROI) requests to members of the team accurately and appropriately Retrieving patient information and releasing it via fax, mail, or in person to patients or non-billable entities upon receiving a valid request. Retrieving patient information and releasing it to our copy service for billable accounts upon receiving a valid request. Answering, tracking, and making calls to COPCP offices, patients, our copy service, and third parties regarding releases and patient portal issues. Creating PDFs of medical records for reference upon request. Entering data into the patient's EHR record accurately. Keeping excel logs of needed data. Reaching and maintaining productivity goals set forth by management. Maintaining, protecting, and distributing PHI according to federal and state regulations. Other duties as set forth by management. Education, Licensures & Certifications High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in a hospital or medical office setting is preferred.
