Responsibilities Include:

Ensuring patients' files are properly maintained and can be retrieved upon request or scheduled appointment, performing clerical tasks necessary for the proper maintenance of patients' medical records, carry out correct reconciliation of all discharged records and ensure necessary follow up for missing documents, prep/scan/verify/index all patients' records within 24 to 48 hours of discharge, ensure physician properly signs, dates, and completes patients' records before signing them off as duly completed, arrange in proper order records from the skilled nursing facility; set up records for storage, log them into the system and put them in storage containers, scan/photocopy records, receive and send information through a fax machine, carry out periodic medical record chart audit and review, take telephone calls and provide answers to questions regarding patients' medical records. This role will be the deparment head for HIM assisting wtih all job duties related to the health information management team and managing HIM team memebers.

Certification:

Certification as an Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)

Experience:
