REQUIREMENTS
Warm and friendly demeanor
Graduation from accredited high school. Minimum of two years medical office experience including surgical scheduling
3•5 preferred • Ability to multi-task • Possesses the verbal ability to understand patient medical records, physician's orders, and to communicate with the patients • Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patients, other staff members, and the physicians • Demonstrates excellent computer skills•EMR and computerized scheduling software and desire to continue development of these skills • Knowledge of medical practice and medical terminology; above average typing skills • Participates in ongoing continuing education as related to position

Full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
Normal color perception and corrected visual acuity and hearing to normal range
Involvement with patients, staff, physicians and management

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
1. Answers all incoming calls, directs telephone traffic. 2. Schedules appointments based on patients' needs and providers guidance. 3. Posts procedures for the EndoCentre as well as at other outpatient ambulatory centers. 4. Answers patient questions and gives information within the limits of his or her knowledge. 5. Obtains authorization from insurance providers to perform procedures for reimbursement. 6. Gives patients appropriate written information sheets regarding preparation for the procedure, as well as, additional patient education materials pertinent to the procedure. 7. Tasks messages if necessary to nurse practitioner/PA, medical assistant, or physician obtaining as much information as possible. 8. Assists walk in patients. 9. Requests, sends, imports and files documents and faxed reports as necessary. 10. Returns patient calls
the same day. 11. Participate in marketing activities including visiting referring MD's offices. 12. Retrieves authorizations from insurance companies. 13. Attends staff meetings and participates in quality improvement activities. 14. Works as an MA as needed
including vital signs, entering PIF, importing
entering medications. 15. Works in off-site locations. 16. As assigned
1. Does not abuse or take advantage of sick time. 2. Always provides proper notification and advance notice of absences. 3. Reports to work, is at the assigned station, and ready to work at their starting time. 4. Returns from lunch on time.
