Overview Join our dynamic dental practice as a Full-Time Dental Receptionist and Biller, where your energy and organizational skills will be the heartbeat of our patient care experience! In this vital role, you will serve as the friendly face at the front desk, managing patient interactions with enthusiasm and professionalism. You will also take charge of billing and insurance processes, ensuring accurate and efficient financial transactions. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verifications accurately Collect patient information, update medical records, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy Process dental billing using CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) to ensure proper reimbursement Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like Meditech, Epic, or eClinicalWorks for documentation review and data entry Handle phone communication with patients regarding appointments, billing inquiries, and follow-up care plans Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies Conduct insurance claims submissions and follow-up on unpaid or denied claims to optimize collections Support office management tasks including filing, data entry, and multi-line phone system operations Skills Proven experience in dental office management or dental clinic experience with familiarity in dental terminology and clinical workflows Strong knowledge of medical billing practices including Medicare, health insurance policies, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical collection procedures Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Meditech, Epic, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; ability to adapt quickly to new software platforms Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities Bilingual capabilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively Demonstrated clerical experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and 10-key typing skills for accurate data entry Knowledge of health information management standards including medical records organization and electronic health records (EHR) management Ability to review clinical documentation thoroughly while maintaining attention to detail in billing and coding processes Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks such as appointment scheduling, billing workflows, and insurance verification This role is an excellent fit for motivated individuals eager to contribute to a caring dental team while advancing their administrative expertise.
