In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment, ensuring smooth clinic operations and efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, medical terminology knowledge, and experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems to support high-quality patient care and administrative excellence. Responsibilities Collect and process patient payments, insurance information, and medical collections with attention to detail and accuracy. Review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Assist with medical billing tasks including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare documentation review to facilitate accurate claims submission. Answer incoming phone calls professionally, providing clear information and directing inquiries appropriately. Manage office supplies, organize filing systems for medical records, and maintain a clean, organized front desk area. Support clinical staff by preparing documentation, reviewing care plans, and handling administrative tasks related to health information management. Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting or clinic environment with strong familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Knowledge of medical billing procedures, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and health insurance processes including Medicare. Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide outstanding patient service via phone and in person; bilingual abilities are a plus. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation and office management tasks. Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality. Demonstrated clerical experience with filing, data entry, typing accuracy, and office management skills. Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with health information management is highly valued. Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
