FRONT OFFICE SPECIALIST JOB DESCRIPTION SMOKY MOUNTAIN SPORTS MEDICINE AND PHYSICAL THERAPY
is seeking a Front Office Specialist for our Cashiers outpatient Physical Therapy Clinic. Smoky Mountain PT is a private practice Physical Therapy clinic, locally owned by practicing clinicians, with offices in Cashiers, Cullowhee, Sylva, Bryson City, Asheville, and Waynesville. We are seeking a professional, dedicated team member to perform front office and support duties in our Cashiers office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Front Office Specialist agrees to perform at a professional level of competence the services, duties, and obligations required by the laws of the State of North Carolina and the rules, regulations, and policies of Smoky Mountain Sports Medicine & Physical Therapy (SMSMPT) which are now existing, or which may be hereinafter enacted by SMSMPT. The Front Office Specialist is expected to sit for prolonged periods, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, speak on the telephone for extended periods with patients/referral sources/insurance companies/others, and create a professional atmosphere in accordance to the Mission and Vision of SMSMPT. OBLIGATIONS
In general, the Front Office Specialist will act as support staff for the physical therapists/Office Manager and will perform duties including, but not limited to: Answer phones and greet clients warmly. Call/schedule new and existing patients. Communicate with referral sources regarding referrals. Assist in filing duties. Verify Insurance eligibility and pre-authorization needs and communicate to patients/staff. Communicate patient out of pocket expenses to patients and/or staff therapists. Post payments electronically Reroute calls to appropriate parties. Answer inquiries about company. Help organize office activities. Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems and personal computers. Take and deliver messages. Sort and distribute incoming mail. Perform data entry. Other duties as assigned.
