Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Front Desk Staff member to join our medical team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing administrative tasks. Your energetic approach will help streamline patient flow, facilitate accurate documentation, and support the overall operational success of our healthcare facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine excellent customer service skills with medical administrative expertise in a fast-paced clinical setting. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Verify patient insurance information, process medical collections, and handle billing inquiries in accordance with health insurance policies like Medicare and HIPAA regulations Manage incoming phone calls with professionalism, practicing proper phone etiquette and effectively communicating appointment details or answering patient questions Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance with clinical confidentiality policies Assist with medical office management tasks including filing, data entry, and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans, documenting patient interactions, and ensuring smooth clinic operations Requirements Proven experience in a medical office or healthcare setting, preferably with clinic experience or as a medical receptionist Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and 10 key typing for efficient data entry Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards, and medical billing processes Ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks Strong communication skills demonstrated through professional phone etiquette and customer service experience Previous dental clinic experience or familiarity with health insurance processes is a plus Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patient care!
