Led by board-certified vein specialist Dr. Dave Buckwalter, who has over 10 years of experience and has performed more than 35,000 vein procedures, the practice provides modern, minimally invasive care in a comfortable office setting. We are committed to high-quality patient care, teamwork, and creating a supportive, professional work environment. We are a low volume, single practitioner, single specialty medical practice seeking a qualified Medical Front Desk Receptionist.
Pay Range:
$20 to $25 and hour, depending on experience •

•Essential Functions Greet and check in/out patients in a courteous and professional manner. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments. Answer and direct incoming phone calls promptly and professionally. Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations. Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Manage patient check-out and provide any necessary paperwork or instructions. Prepare and organize daily schedules for providers. Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding patient flow and needs. Respond to patient inquiries and resolve basic issues or route appropriately. Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality. Perform general administrative duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, and emailing. Monitor and maintain front office supplies and cleanliness. Assist with patient intake forms and pre-visit paperwork as needed. Follow clinic policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Post charges and create insurance claim within EMR. Navigate to payer access portals for prior authorization, claim, and patient estimates (such as Availity, Pear, Novitashere, PA Promise, UHC, and other portals). Communicate insurance, balance due, and payment information to patients (and to staff as needed). Occasionally escort patients to exam rooms. Occasionally aid Medical Assistant with tasks. Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree is preferred. One to three years of work experience working in a vein clinic or similar service-oriented industry is preferred. Knowledge of health insurance in regard to referrals, authorizations, and claims required. Knowledge of computers, medical terminology, and insurance to effectively handle patient encounters is required. Ability to speak Spanish is preferred. EMR (Electronic Medical Record) knowledge required. Knowledge of Athenahealth EMR is preferred. Ability to multi-task required. Self-motivated and looking for personal development required. Ability to work and adapt in a fast paced, patient service-oriented environment required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal skills required. Good organizational skills in the performance of duties and responsibilities required. Ability to effectively work with physicians, patients, and other personnel in a cooperative, collaborative manner to maintain high patient satisfaction required. Ability to maintain professional conduct in all work-related situations required.
