Full Job Description Job Summary:

Medical Scribe/Assistant

• ENT ENT Associates is committed to providing high-quality patient care.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Medical Scribe to join our healthcare team. The Medical Scribe will work alongside physicians and other medical professionals to accurately document patient encounters in real-time, ensuring complete and precise medical records. This role plays a critical part in improving workflow efficiency and allowing providers to focus on delivering high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include documenting patient histories, physical exams, procedures, and treatment plans in the electronic health record (EHR), as well as assisting with chart preparation and other administrative tasks as needed. The ideal candidate has strong listening and typing skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position is primarily based in La Mesa , with the possibility of providing coverage at our Chula Vista and Escondido office locations as needed. This position is ideal for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in the medical field, particularly those pursuing careers in healthcare.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures in the EHR as they are being performed by the physician
• Must be able to anticipate physician's needs to facilitate the flow of the clinic
• Good judgement, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to be self-motivated are especially important when working as a Scribe
• Assists in office procedures performed by physicians including setting up procedure equipment and/or appropriate procedure/surgical instrument tray
• Returns patient calls and documents patient's chart accordingly
• Assists physicians with in-office procedures and minor surgeries
• Exam room preparation and turnover
• Bring patients back to exam room and perform intake entry such as: the History of Present Illness (HPI), chief complaint, medication lists, medication allergies and enters the information into patient's electronic medical record
• Take vital signs
• Sample medication oversight and compliance
• Assists in setting up and cleaning in office procedures
• Perform hearing tests
• Assist with the training of a new scribe

Experience:

• Prior experience in a clinical setting or as a Medical Scribe is preferred.
• We are looking for a confident self-starter with a strong background in medical terminology, and basic anatomy
• Must have strong observation and listening skills
• Must be BLS/CPR certified
• Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications
• Be able to type at least 60 WPM
• Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
