The Florida Eye Clinic has grown to an impressive 10 practice clinic of ophthalmologists and optometrists with a state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgical Center at our home practice in Altamonte Springs. We believe our mission is to maximize the visual potential of each of our patients through the highest quality of vision care. We are dedicated to providing a positive experience for our patients, so The Florida Eye Clinic is seeking a professional, positive, and team-oriented individual to join our family as a Traveling Medical Scribe
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
This position directs patients to exam rooms and prepare the patient for physician examination. Assist the physician during the physical examination. Records information pertinent to each patient's diagnosis and treatment as directed by the physician.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The Scribe must: Be a high school graduate or equivalent Have prior work as a Traveling Medical Scribe Have excellent customer service skills Have prior experience working for an ophthalmologist or in an ophthalmic-related area. Spell and abbreviate accurately using medical ophthalmic terminology
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Records information pertinent to each patient's diagnosis and treatment as directed by the physician. Obtains patient consent signature as needed. Instills eye medication/drops for patients when instructed. Reviews physician's orders to complete internal procedures and referral forms Completes encounter form information to reflect each patient's diagnostic treatment and visit parameters. Maintains a smooth patient flow within the exam area.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Aptitudes:
Audio and verbal ability, ability to make simple calculations, ability to organize.
Techniques and Procedures:
Requires 100% interaction with people, manual dexterity to an extent of 95
  • 100%, lifting and reaching limited to 90
  • 95%, sitting and standing to an extent of 90
  • 100%.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to operate visual testing equipment. May be required to stand/sit for extended periods of time Must be able to move about the clinic freely There is to be no lifting of patients at any time.
SALARY:
$19.00/per hour ++, to commensurate with experience.
