Medical Credentialing Specialist

Job Description

Orthopaedic Medical Group of Tampa Bay is a fast-paced and well-established orthopaedic practice with 9 locations and an ambulatory surgery center. The Credentialling Specialist is responsible for our credentialling process of all physicians, physician associates, and nurse practitioners with all insurances, hospitals, and surgery centers. We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 1-3 years of medical credentialing experience.
Job Duties:
Process initial and reappointment credentialing applications for physicians, advanced practice providers, and allied health professionals. Verify all roster demographics are correct and up to date for all medical providers and office locations. Monthly reporting, OIG, NPDB, etc. Perform full primary source verification on education, licensure, certifications, work history, malpractice history, peer references, and other required elements. Upload, update, and audit provider files and scanned documentation. Serve as a resource to providers and departments regarding credentialing requirements. Prepare credentialing files for departmental review, Credentials Committee, and Board. Review privilege request forms and confirm providers meet criteria defined in privileging documents, bylaws, and regulatory requirements. Communicate privilege approvals to appropriate leaders and departments. Maintain privilege lists, updates, and historical privilege records for each provider. Identify discrepancies or red flags and escalate as appropriate. Update & attest CAQH profiles
Qualifications:
High School Diploma 1-3 years' experience in medical credentialing required Knowledge of provider credentialing, and its impact to the practice Excellent communication, organization, and computer skills Detail and customer service oriented Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills
Physical Requirements:
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Manual dexterity needed for using a ten-key calculator and/or computer keyboard. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Environmental Working Conditions:
Normal office environment. The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate.
