SUMMARY:

The primary role of the Medical Scribe is to assist the physician with documenting the medical chart of each patient seen in the practice. Physician shall introduce the Medical Scribe to the patient as being present to document the physician's dictation of the care provided. Follows physicians through their workday and chart patient encounters in real-time using a medical office's Electronic Health Record and existing templates.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Chart patient encounters in real-time during office visits. Review documentation to determine accuracy Manage and sort medical documents in the EMR system. (ATHENA Generate referral letters for physicians Assist physician with e-Scribing Adhere to strict HIPAA confidentiality guidelines, ensuring that patient information remains secure and protected at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or gen equiv.
• Min. 2-5 years of experience working in a healthcare setting preferable in a physician practice setting as a Scribe
• Proficient in medical terminology
• Excellent attention to details, organized, excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to document patient encounters including medical history, physical examination, assessments, and treatment plans accurately and efficiently.
• EMR systems experience/knowledge, Athena EMR is a plus
