Overview Join our Shenandoah Dermatology team as a Medical Assistant/Scribe, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will work closely with healthcare providers to document patient encounters accurately while supporting clinical procedures across diverse medical settings. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers by documenting patient visits in real-time using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness of medical records. Prepare examination rooms, gather patient histories, and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Support clinical procedures including phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) when required. Update patients chart accordingly Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards. Collaborate with the medical team to ensure seamless flow of patient care from check-in to discharge or follow-up. Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and EMR/EHR systems to facilitate accurate documentation and billing. Skills Strong knowledge of dermatology Experience with medical office management including scheduling and verifying insurance Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and electronic health records (EHR/EMR) management. Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail.
